  Things to Do in the Area
 

Blessingbourne Apartments are an ideal base for family vacations, activity holidays and short breaks in Northern Ireland with numerous activities such as angling, golf, pony trekking, cycling, walking, Spa therapies and the renowned William Carleton Summer School.

Blessingbourne Estate is a working farm of 550 acres with a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. The grounds are filled with well cultivated plants and flowers and abound with various forms of wildlife. Wildlife trust There is an array of interesting animals on the estate, including peacocks, chickens, Llamas, pigs and ponies all of which prove a great hit with our younger guests and are sure to keep them entertained for hours at a time.

Blessingbourne's many woodland trails and the two large lakes within the estate are ideal for a leisurely stroll but if you would like something more strenuous, we have bicycles and boats available for hire.

Angling:
The lakes at Blessingbourne have good stocks of roach and rudd as well as some specimen pike to tempt the fishing enthusiasts but for more serious fishing then the extensive waters of Lough Erne are just a short drive away in nearby Co Fermanagh.

Golf:
Golf is always a popular pastime with guests and Enniskillen, just 25 minutes drive away, is home to the renowned Nick Faldo designed Lough Erne Golf Resort and the 18 hole Enniskillen Golf Course, more locally on the outskirts of Fivemiletown, Clogher Valley Golf Club is proving popular and successful with local golfers.

Pony Trekking:
The trekking centre nearby caters for all ages and riding abilities and we can make arrangements for individual and family bookings - an excellent day out for all the family.

Cycling and Walking:
The Carleton Trail runs close by the estate and is a cycle and walking trail which winds its way around the scenic Clogher Valley, in Co Tyrone. The trail follows landmarks and other historical sites connected with William Carleton, a respected member of Ireland's literary heritage. If you prefer to stay closer to home Blessingbourne estate offers many miles of wonderful lakeside and woodland walks.

William Carleton Summer School:
Each year there is a William Carleton Summer School in the nearby village of Clogher, which examines his work and the life and times in which he worked - a must for the literary enthusiast.

Outdoor Activity Centre - Todds Leap:
Toddsleap.com outdoor activity centre just 10 minutes drive, offers an exciting mixture of adventure and team building activities for groups and individuals.

Spa Therapy:
Lavender Spa, located at Errigal, Ballygawley, just 15 minutes drive away offers guests a wide range of holistic treatments, thermal spa, deep relaxation in a beautifully located rural spa, it is a perfect way to unwind while holidaying in the Clogher Valley.
