There’s something about the end of October that makes you want to get out of the house, wrap up warm and find a bit of magic. If you’re planning a few days at Blessingbourne over the Halloween break, you’re in a good spot. Between pumpkin patches, witches in the woods and a fireworks display, there’s more than enough to fill your days!
Here’s our guide to what’s on nearby, and why we think Blessingbourne is the perfect place to enjoy a spooky Halloween break.
If your break includes the weekend of 24 and 25 October, make Clogher Valley Pumpkin Patch your first stop. It’s only about 10 minutes from Blessingbourne, which means you can have a relaxed morning, head over, and be picking pumpkins before the queue builds. It’s a lovely, day out. Entry and parking are free, there’s no need to book, and you only pay for the pumpkins you pick, with prices from £1 to £8 depending on size. Last weekend the most popular photo spots were Patch the scarecrow (made for the scarecrow competition at Clogher Valley Show) and the harvest bench, and there’s even a pre-carved “baby in a pumpkin” for the family album. Arty’s Coffee Cart is on site for a warm drink, and there are accessible toilets too.
A few practical points. It’s fully outdoors, so coats and sensible footwear are a must. It can get busy, so you may have to queue. And unfortunately, no dogs are allowed this year. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm on both days.

Once the pumpkins are sorted, there’s plenty more to explore as the week goes on.
Halloween Unleashed, Enniskillen (23-31 October) is a whole week of seasonal fun, including the Castle Island Pumpkin Patch, a Witchy Trail, a Halloween Parade and family activities. With such a long run, it’s easy to fit into almost any itinerary.
Hallowe’en at Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh (28-31 October) brings traditional Halloween celebrations to life with folklore, witches, crafts, face painting and a family Halloween trail. It’s a great one for a full day out, especially if you have little ones.

The Wicked Witch & The Cursed Forest at Marble Arch Caves (28-31 October) takes the family into the woods for an adventure of clues, characters and a few surprises along the way.
And on Friday 30 October, the Enniskillen Halloween Fireworks light up the night sky, a fitting finale to the week.

The best part is how close everything is. You can pick pumpkins in the morning, follow a witchy trail in the afternoon and still be back for a cosy evening, with no marathon drives in between.
After a busy day of pumpkins, parades and spooky woodland trails, there’s nothing better than coming back somewhere peaceful. Our self-catering apartments are perfect for family breaks, giving you space to spread out, a warm base to return to and the freedom to do things your own way.
Blessingbourne is also a destination in its own right. Our 550 acre estate is at its most beautiful in autumn, and there’s plenty to enjoy without leaving the grounds. Follow the walking trails through the forest as the leaves turn, or stroll down to our private lake, Lough Fadda, for a bit of quiet before dinner. It’s the kind of fresh-air, slow-down time that makes a short break feel properly restful.
Halloween fun by day, peace and quiet by night. That’s our idea of the perfect autumn break.

Whether you’re coming for the pumpkin patch weekend or the final days of Halloween week, we’d love to host you. To book your stay this Halloween at Blessingbourne contact colleen on info@blessingbourne.com or book online here
