Blessingbourne Apartments are an ideal base for family vacations, activity holidays and short breaks in Northern Ireland with numerous activities such as walking, cycling, fishing, pony trekking and golfing either on site or close by.

Blessingbourne Estate is a working dairy farm of 550 acres with a herd of Ayrshire milk cows. The grounds are filled with well cultivated plants and flowers and abound with various forms of wildlife. There is an array of interesting animals on the estate, including peacocks, chickens and ponies all of which prove a great hit with our younger guests and are sure to keep them entertained for hours at a time.

Blessingbourne's many woodland trails and the two large lakes within the estate are ideal for a leisurely stroll but if you would like something more strenuous, we have bicycles and boats available for hire.

The Carleton Trail runs close by the estate and is a cycle and walking trail which winds its way around the scenic Clogher Valley, in Co Tyrone. The trail follows landmarks and other historical sites connected with William Carleton, a respected member of Ireland's literary heritage. Each year there is a William Carleton Summer School in the nearby village of Clogher, which examines his work and the life and times in which he worked - a must for the literary enthusiast.

The lakes at Blessingbourne have good stocks of roach and rudd as well as some specimen pike to tempt the fishing enthusiasts but for more serious fishing then the extensive waters of Lough Erne are just a short drive away in nearby Co Fermanagh. Within walking distance of the Blessingbourne Apartments is Fivemiletown, a relatively small town but with good shops, hotel restaurant, excellent golf course and a trekking centre. We can make arrangements for pony trekking at the centre where all ages and riding abilities are catered for - an excellent day out for all the family.

Golf is always a popular pastime and on the outskirts of Fivemiletown, a new 9 hole course is proving popular and successful with local golfers. The larger town of Enniskillen, just 25 minutes drive away, has two excellent 18 hole Golf Courses and there are numerous other courses within travelling distance.

• Enniskillen Golf Club, a wonderful old 18 hole Parkland Course set in the grounds of Castlecoole Estate on the outskirts of Enniskillen.
• Castlehume Golf Club, an 18 hole course with modern facilities on the Belleek Road out of Enniskillen.
• Fintona Golf Club, just 20 minutes drive from Blessingbourne, has been rated one of the top nine hole courses in the Province - a beautiful parkland course with trout stream.
• Omagh Golf Club, 35 minutes drive away on the outskirts of Omagh, Co Tyrone, this is a lovely 18 hole Parkland Course.
• Clones Golf Club in neighbouring Co Monaghan, Republic of Ireland, is an old 18 hole Golf Course.
• Donegal Golf Club enjoys a wonderful setting on the beautiful Co Donegal coast at Murvagh. A seaside links course well worth the longer drive for the scenery alone.
