We arrived there en masse – four jeeps and a car
And entered the drive, we had come from afar
Surrounded by beauty and nature’s delight
Blessingbourne Estate is an awesome sight
We arrived at the cottages and what a surprise
Each one so different in all of our eyes
Country charm married with all mod cons
And beautiful views of the lake and the lawns
The animals visited each and every day
A family of peacocks pecking away
Hens and the roosters that crow round the clock
Certainly ensuring an early morning shock!
There are cows, pigs and goats and horses to see
And cats, dogs and frogs in this menagerie
So combine them together and what is at hand
An exciting adventure in this wonderful land
Walking and talking and playing tennis the game
Boats on the lake and barbies in the rain
Wellies and macs and brollies are best
With the kids and the adults who never seem to rest
We enjoyed fun together of that there’s no doubt
Each group has a prankster who jokes and plays about
Alarm clocks that ring in the dead of the night
And soap on your toothbrush, yeugh, what a plight!
There’s so much to see and appreciate here
You can have peace of mind and let go of your fear
The animals are tame and come close to you
In a way it’s like living in a free range zoo!
From Colleen and Nick a warm welcome came
They offered us help and advice just the same
Their friendliness really warmed our heart
And gave our holiday a fantastic start.
So if you would like to enjoy a real break
Take yourself down to find peace by the lake
And enjoy the beauty of God’s rich creation
In Blessingbourne’s peaceful, beautiful location!
